About

HEAT is a non-profit, politically independent think tank, initiated by PT1 and DWR ECO with the goal to create awareness, find and foster scalable technologies from the built world (real estate, construction, infrastructure, energy) to accelerate adaption towards climate resilience.

The construction, infrastructure and energy sectors make up the largest part of global carbon emissions. It therefore remains the #1 priority to reduce CO2 and greenhouse gases, but according to projections, the 1.5 °C climate goal becomes increasingly unrealistic to reach.

We therefore need to face the hard truth and – without reducing mitigation efforts – kick-off a substantial acceleration of development and deployment of adaption technologies from the built world to prepare our habitats for the expectable consequences that will arise from climate change within the coming decades.
